Successfully reaping 10 Oscar nominations for 2022, Dune is back in theaters in Australia. The film, directed by Denis Villeneuve, which was first released in October last year, can now be seen again on the big screen.
Dune received several nominations including Best Sound, Best Original Score, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Film Editing. This sci-fi genre film also won nominations for Best Makeup and Hairstyling, and Best Cinematography at the 94th Academy Awards, where the Oscars night is scheduled to take place on March 27.
Adapted from the first half of Frank Herbert’s 1965 science fiction novel, this first part of Dune stars Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Jason Momoa, Josh Brolin and Zendaya among others. According to the plan, the sequel to this film will be released on October 20, 2023.

Synopsis
Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) is a brilliant and talented young man born with a destiny beyond his comprehension. The son of Duke Leto of House Atreides (Oscar Isaac) and Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson) must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and people.
Paul must travel to the expanse of sand on the remote desert planet of Arrakis, the only location that is a source of spice, a rare, high-value natural resource that has fueled fierce struggles between generations. But in their struggle to form alliances with the natives, skilled warriors known as Fremen, Paul and his entourage must also survive the inhospitable heat, extraordinary sandstorms, and the terrifying monolithic sandworm.
