A drama series based on real-world reportage footage, ‘The Guardian’, is scheduled to start airing on Friday, December 16, 2022. Revolving around life in a police station, the 40-episode drama can be watched online via the Jiangsu live streaming video platform SatelliteTV.
The Guardian’ or previously known as ‘A Branch and a Leaf: General Love” is a collaborative work of a top production team with a cast of characters. The TV series is directed by Zhu Ding Zhong, written by Yi Xiang Dong and Guo Shuang, as well as starring Zhang Feng Yi, Wang Yuan Ke, and Wang Li Xin.
Basically, this drama tells the story of a group of post-90s police academy graduates who innovate to create a new style of management. The screenwriter, Yi Xiang Dong, said that all the stories in this drama are adapted from real life events, while the characters basically have prototypes.

The Guardian Storyline
Several police academy alumni of the post-90s generation, including Wang Ji Xiang (Wang Li Xin), Luo Xin (Zhu Cheng Yi), and Zhang Miao Miao (Wang Yi Zhe), are assigned to the Xinqiao Police Station.
Luo Xin was accidentally involved in the death of a mentally disabled girl and was sentenced to two years in prison. When the police station was in a crisis, Chen Xiao Jing (Wang Yuan Ke), came to take over the leadership and clean up the mess that had occurred.
Wang Ji Xiang tries hard to improve things and recommends himself to become a police officer in a community. Through various challenges, he finally managed to win the trust and love of the community.
Meanwhile, after being released from prison, Luo Xin focused on public welfare and founded the Volunteer Service Association. Through this new style of communication, these post-1990s alumni of the police academy succeeded in creating a new management and restoring the name of the Xinqiao Police Station.
