Synopsis
Shao Xue (Chen Yuqi), Zheng Su Nian (Lin Yi), and Zhang Qi (Yan Zi Dong) were best friends from childhood. Their parents all worked (or were former workers) in the antiques trade and museums, dedicating their lives to preserving priceless cultural artifacts.
Their sharing the ups and downs of life together – including through the SARS epidemic to facing the death of a loved one, has deepened their bond of friendship. But as they grow older, their friendship and feelings for each other slowly change.
Zheng Su Nian and Zhang Qi both harbored secret feelings towards Shao Xue. Meanwhile, Shao Xue herself also has a love for Zheng Su Nian.
When Zheng Su Nian’s mother who had a great influence on her son and Shao Xue became seriously ill and eventually died, Zheng Su Nian decided to continue her mother’s skills as a conservator, drawing inspiration and energy through cultural heritage.
Meanwhile, grief spurred Shao Xue to move on, never to give up her future for love and decide to leave her hometown.
On the other hand, through his skills in mathematics, Zhang Qi had the opportunity to study abroad. Zhang Qi decides to bury his feelings for Shao Xue and wanders off.
The three friends split up to pursue their respective dreams. Years later, they meet again and provide an opportunity for the seeds planted in their youth to germinate once again.
