Manchester United managed to continue their steps towards the FA Cup quarter-finals by beating Everton 3-1. Antony’s early goal was equalized by Conor Coady before he scored an own goal which was then complemented by a penalty from Marcus Rashford in second half injury time.
This is the seventh straight win that Man United has recorded since mid-November 2022 in various competitions. Starting from the 4-2 victory that was inscribed by The Red Devils over Aston Villa in the third round of the EFL Cup.
In the fourth round, Man Utd managed to pave the way for the quarter-finals with a win over Burnley through two goals scored by Christian Eriksen and Marcus Rashford without reply.
The classy performance shown by Rashford is indeed haunting the defense of his opponents. Throughout the seven-win period alone, the 25-year-old striker has scored six goals in six matches.
However, the strong performance shown by Erik ten Hag’s team brought new hope to Man United. Including being able to add to the EFL Cup trophy collection after missing the final round in the last five seasons after winning the title for the fifth time in the 2016/2017 season.
But we can be sure Charlton will not give up easily. Especially after the club, which is currently fighting in League One, has the opportunity to make new history if it manages to qualify for the semi-finals of the EFL Cup for the first time in the club’s 118-year history.
Dean Holden’s side managed to qualify for the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup after defeating another EPL club, Brighton & Hove Albion, via a penalty shootout. The Valiants come to Old Trafford on a winning streak in their previous two league outings, hoping to challenge a club who have beaten them in their last 10 head-to-head meetings.
