Ajax prepare for a friendly for the sixth time this pre-season campaign by hosting Shakhtar Donetsk at the Johan Cruijff Arena on Tuesday, 26 July 2022, kick-off at 19:00 BST.
After being left by Erik ten Hag who is now coaching Manchester United, the Ajax squad seems to be still trying to adjust to the new coach, Alfred Schreuder. This can be seen from the various results achieved in the last five friendly matches.
Three wins were won against Meppen (3-0), Lokomotiva Zagreb (3-0), and Salzburg (3-2). Interestingly, apart from a 1-1 draw with Eupen, the only negative record recorded by the Eredivisie champions occurred against a second tier Bundesliga club, Paderborn, with a 2-5 defeat.
