Aston Villa and Brighton still have a chance of qualifying for European competition next season, but Villa have the advantage of being seventh with 63 points, one point ahead of Tottenham Hotspur and two clear of Brentford.

Both teams also have injury problems ahead of this game. Aston Villa had to lose Alex Moreno, Jed Steer and Philippe Coutinho through injury. Calum Chambers and Diego Carlos could return to the squad after recovering from injury. Brighton are also without Tariq Lamptey, Jeremy Sarmiento and Jakub Moder due to injury. Adam Lallana and Solly March are still in doubt whether they will play or not.
