Match Preview
It’s a tough time for Crystal Palace as they are desperately aiming to end a seven-game Premier League winless streak. The Eagles are now ranked 12th with 26 points.
On the other hand, Liverpool are in eighth place with 35 points. With just 16 matches left to play, the Reds are six points behind sixth-placed Newcastle United in the race for a place in the Europa League.
Both teams have different results in the last match. Liverpool secured 3 points after a 2-0 win over Newcastle United at St. James’ Park. Meanwhile, Crystal Palace only got 1 point after a 1-1 draw at Gtech Community Stadium against Brentford.
The last time the two teams met in the Premier League was last August at Anfield which ended in a 1-1 draw. In that match, Wilfried Zaha scored for The Eagles in the 32nd minute while Luis Díaz scored for the Reds in the 61st minute.
Liverpool were dominant in their last meeting with Crystal Palace, Jurgen Klopp was able to concoct a strategy that kept them unbeaten in their last 11 Premier League games.
Meanwhile Patrick Vieira is hoping to secure Crystal Palace’s first league win against Liverpool since April 2017, as the Reds have outscored the Eagles 31-7 during their unbeaten run.
Having just lost dramatically to Real Madrid in the last 16 first leg of the Champions League, Klopp will still rely on Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Darwin Núñez, up front to win the three points. Each of them had scored eight, seven, and six times.
Meanwhile, Palace have two players who stand out this season, namely Zaha and Eberechi Eze. Zaha, who has scored six goals, has become the club’s top scorer, with the two goals being crucial first strikes. Eze also impressed, scoring four goals, including the opener.
A crucial match for Liverpool, who are still in 8th place in the premier league standings, and are having trouble chasing 1 ticket to European competition next season. While Palace are in 12th place with 26 points, the team’s position is still vulnerable because they are only 6 points ahead of West Ham who are top of the relegation zone.

Team News
As hosts, bad news for Crystal Palace, as left back Tyrick Mitchell was forced out of their last game against Brentford with an ankle injury. Thankfully, nothing serious and it is hoped the defender will retain his place in the starting lineup.
However, Sam Johnstone is still out for the Eagles, while Wilfried Zaha may return following team practice on Friday. And with Nathan Ferguson, Joel Ward and James Tomkins also back in contention, there could be some tough selection decisions for Patrick Vieira, especially after Eze’s game-changing goal last weekend.
Liverpool squad updates – Jurgen Klopp’s men have been dogged by injury problems, with Nunez the latest player to recover from a shoulder problem. Unfortunately, Thiago Alcantara, Calvin Ramsay, Luis Diaz, Arthur and Ibrahima Konate still can’t compete.
Although, Konate has resumed training, it is unlikely he will make the squad. Following their recent loss to Real Madrid, Klopp could opt for some tactical shake-ups, with the return of Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino for a place up front.
Also, Joel Matip could replace Joe Gomez at the back after the latter appeared to be having late-game problems. In midfield, Naby Keita and Harvey Elliott also have the opportunity to refresh the squad.
Possible Starting Lineup:
Crystal Palace (4-4-2) | Liverpool (4-3-3) |

Andersen | Matip |
Guehi | Van Dijk |
Mitchell | Robertson |
Olise | Henderson |

Hughes | Keita |
