AC Milan secured three points after a 1-0 win over Monza in their last away game. This result completed their second win in a row and boosted their overall form.
The Rossoneri have now climbed to fourth in the Serie A standings with 44 points. Even though they were only two points clear of their nearest rival Lazio, the recent form of Stefano Pioli’s men has been impressive, and they ended their losing streak.
Atlanta, on the other hand, lost their last home game to Lecce 2-1, and their recent form has been inconsistent, with two losses in their last three league games.
However, La Dea have accumulated enough points in their previous outings to secure a place in sixth place in the Serie A standings, just three points behind their opponents AC Milan this evening.
The victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the first leg of the last 16 of the Champions League with a score of 1-0 was quite impressive for AC Milan. Brahim Díaz’s only goal in the 7th minute was enough to secure their foot in the UCL quarter-finals. Meanwhile, the second leg of the Champions League will take place at home to Tottenham in London on March 9.

Team News
Ahead of the exciting match between AC Milan and Atalanta, the Rossoneri will field their squad without three main players. Goalkeeper Mike Maignan, midfielder Ismael Bennacer and club captain Davide Calabria are still recovering from muscle injuries. All three are expected to return in March.
At right-back, Junior Messias successfully replaced Calabria by scoring the winner against Monza last week. However, against the tougher Atalanta, coach Stefano Pioli is likely to choose Alexis Saelemaekers.
Olivier Giroud is also expected to start again in attack to replace Divock Origi, while Simon Kjaer will provide experience in the heart of defence.
Meanwhile, Atalanta were unable to field central defender Merih Demiral, who has received five yellow cards this season. Jose Luis Palomino will replace him in the heart of defence. Duvan Zapata and Mario Pasalic are still out with muscle and ankle injuries, while Hans Hateboer will have to undergo surgery after picking up a ligament injury against Lazio.
Netherlands international midfielder Marten de Roon is likely to return to Atalanta’s midfield alongside Teun Koopmeiners, having missed through accumulation of yellow cards in the defeat against Lecce for the Bergamo side. Even so, Atalanta will still be a difficult opponent for Milan to face.
