The AC Milan team will challenge the Torino team in a Matchday 2 Serie A Italy in Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, Milano on Saturday, August 26, 2023. For streaming coverage of AC Milan vs Torino, preview and how to watch it, see in this article.
AC Milan will host Torino at the San Siro stadium in the second matchday of Serie A 2023/24 on Saturday 27 August. The home team is very confident after winning a convincing victory over Bologna in the opening game.
Torino did not get off to a smooth start when they were held to a 0-0 draw by Cagliari. However, this team still has a performance that is not too bad. In the last five matches, they have lost only once.
Milan always has a big advantage when playing at home. With a stronger squad, Milan is expected to gain full points. In terms of meeting record, Milan is also superior to Torino. At the last meeting at the San Siro in February this year, Milan managed to win narrowly 1-0.
Milan have started the new season with great enthusiasm when they beat Thiago Motta’s Bologna at home in the first week. It was a victory which showed that the red-and-black squad was still technically stable even though they faced many difficulties in midfield when Ismael Bennacer was injured and Sandro Tonali moved to Newcastle. In the last four Serie A matches, Milan has always won, including the victory over Juventus at the end of last season.
On the other hand, whoever the coach is, Torino’s problem is still a front line that is too weak. For a very long time they have had to rely on Andrea Belotti, who has suffered a disastrous decline in form in recent years. After Belotti moved to Roma in the summer of 2022, Torino have yet to find a centre-forward capable of replacing him. This is the direct reason why Torino can’t fly high even though in fact, the quality of the team from Piemonte is not bad, in fact they have very character under Ivan Juric.
The only Milan player who should be absent in this match is Ismael Bennacer, the Algerian midfielder still has to undergo treatment for another three months. Since the end of last season, Milan have always struggled with Bennacer’s absence, now it will be even more difficult after Sandro Tonali also left for Newcastle.
Torino will not be strengthened by Demba Seck, the striker from Senegal who must be absent due to injury will make their front line even more difficult. Defender Koffi Djidji also cannot play due to health reasons. On the Torino bench there is still Simone Verdi, an agile winger who has shone with Bologna and Napoli before.
Milan is expected to achieve a second successive win in Serie A by beating Torino by a narrow margin. The home team is likely to dominate the game and create many dangerous chances. Torino will be under pressure and can’t score.
