Lyon will host Montpellier at the Groupama Stadium on Friday, 19 August 2023, in the second week of Ligue 1 2023/24. This match will be a tough test for Lyon who are currently in poor form, while Montpellier are ambitious to continue their positive trend.
Lyon started the new season with disappointing results. They lost 1-2 to Strasbourg in the opening match of Ligue 1, having previously also failed to win in four pre-season games. However, Montpellier should not be underestimated. They have always scored at least two goals in their last four visits to Lyon headquarters in Ligue 1. In addition, they have also won three of their last four away games in Ligue 1 this season.
The two teams have equal strength, even though Lyon is slightly more favored because they are playing at home. However, Montpellier will not give up easily and will try to steal points at home to the opponent. Lyon vs Montpellier is predicted to take place with a draw.
