Karim Benzema won the 2022 Ballon d’Or for the men’s category at the 2022 Golden Globe Awards ceremony held at the Chatelet Theater in Paris, France on Tuesday (18-10-2022).
French striker Karim Benzema, who plays for Real Madrid, won the 2022 Ballon d’Or. This award is the first time for Benzema in his career.
Polish striker Robert Lewandowski won the Gerd Muller Award (Best Striker Award), and Real Madrid goalkeeper Courtois won the Yashin Award (Best Goalkeeper Award).
While Gavi from Barcelona won the Copa Award (Best Newcomer Award) and Sadio Mane from Bayern Munich won the Socrates Award.
Premier League side Manchester City won the Club of the Year award, eliminating Liverpool and Real Madrid, champions of the Champions League last season.
Barcelona’s women’s player, Alexia Putellas, won the Women’s Ballon d’Or.
