Al-Fayha and Al-Hilal will meet again in the Saudi Pro League Week 19 at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium Stadium, Riyadh Friday, December 29, 2023. Live streaming details, how to watch, match previews and lineup predictions can be found in this article.
Al Fayha will hope to turn things around at the Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Stadium on Friday after suffering four consecutive defeats in their domestic matches, while Al Hilal will want to widen or at least maintain a seven-point gap at the top of the table over Al Nassr.
Al Fayha is currently ranked 11th with 19 points after 18 league matches. Since the beginning of December, Vuk Rasovic, Al Fayha coach, has had difficulty forming his team’s defense. The club from Al Majma’ah has conceded 15 goals in four domestic matches this month. They need to find a way to improve their defense if they want to avoid a fifth straight defeat.
Since promotion to the Saudi Pro League in the 2017-18 season, Al Fayha have not suffered more than five consecutive defeats. However, that record is at risk of being broken on Friday if they cannot overcome Al-Hilal’s attack.
Al Fayha have won only one of their last seven competitive matches at home, and have lost their last two home matches in this competition by a combined score of 8-2. They need to rediscover their home form if they are to avoid another defeat.
Al-Hilal, the league leaders, have won 19 consecutive matches in all competitions, including a resounding 7-0 victory over Al Taawoun. Jorge Jesus, Al-Hilal’s coach, has seen his team score 18 goals this season with 10 minutes or less remaining in the second half, allowing them to open a seven-point gap at the top of the standings.
Al-Hilal has shown strong defense throughout the season, conceding only nine times in the 2023-24 season, the lowest total in the Saudi Pro League. They have beaten their last seven opponents by a combined score of 27-1, showing their strength on both ends of the floor.
Al-Hilal have not lost a league match at home since May 23 last season, and have only drawn once as a visiting team in the 2023-24 season. They have scored 57 goals this season, just six goals less than Al-Nassr who are the highest scoring team.
In terms of team strength, Al Fayha will be without Abdelhamid Sabiri and Anthony Nwakaeme due to unknown injuries, while Mohammed Majrashi has a cruciate ligament problem. Meanwhile, Al-Hilal will still be missing Neymar, who is absent due to a cruciate ligament tear, while Mohammed Al-Owais is experiencing back problems.
However, the visitors still have plenty of attacking quality, with Sergej Milinkovic-Savic scoring four goals in the reverse fixture, Aleksandar
