The fantasy martial arts drama series, ‘Five Kings of Thieves’, is scheduled to start airing on Monday, March 13, 2023. The drama, adapted from the novel ‘Wu Da Zei Wang’ by Zhang Hai Fan, can be watched online via the live streaming video platform Youku.
This 12-episode web drama tells the story of Huo Xiao Xie, played by Wang Da Lu, an orphan at the market who is forced to get involved in world chaos. ‘Five Kings of Thieves’ featured a number of well-known stars including Wang Da Lu and Ren Min who were lined up as the main players.
Several other artists involved included Zhao Hua, Wang Xiu Zhu, Tan Xiao Fan, Wang Ruo Lin, as well as seasoned actors Hei Zi and Ju Xing Mao.

Five Kings of Thieves Storyline
In the early years of the Republic of China, when warlords ruled and the world was in turmoil, a mysterious treasure of jade beads appeared which was traced to rivers and lakes. It was also rumored that the clue of the ‘Five Elements Sacred Monarch’ which symbolized the throne had been sealed.
During that time, revolutionaries and students were progressively waging campaigns to protect national treasures. Including protecting it from the Japanese Black Dragon Association robbing China’s national treasure.
Unintentionally, Huo Xiao Xie (Wang Da Lu) gets caught up in the chaos. Orphans who are used to living in the market are even involved in the movement to protect national treasures which make them face various difficulties, obstacles and dangers.
On the way, Huo Xiao Xie meets Shu Yao Er (Ren Min), the smart and eccentric daughter of the Water King. Despite being the domineering party in the friendship, Shu Yao Er always put protecting Huo Xiao Xie ahead of herself when facing various dangers.
Huo Xiao Xie only relied on kindness, justice, intelligence, and vigilance to overcome these difficulties. But eventually he was able to integrate the five elements family into a reliable force to expel the Tartars and restore China.
