Latvia vs. Armenia: Match Preview, Where To Watch Live Euro 2024 Qualifiers, October 12, 2023

The Latvia national team will face the Armenia national team in Matchday Babak Gugur of the Euro 2024 Qualifiers on Thursday, October 12, 2023. Live streaming of Latvia vs Armenia, preview, lineup predictions, and how to watch the match live broadcast, can be watched in this article.

Armenia, who are in the same position as Wales and only three points behind the top two teams in Group D, are still very much in contention with three games remaining. Former Ukraine coach Oleksandr Petrakov wants to capitalize on the progress made so far, such as a summer win in Wales, and also stay within reach of second-placed Turkey.

The top two teams in each section automatically earn tickets to Germany, so their 1-1 draw with Turkey in September – and they could have even won, had Turkey not scored a late equalizer in Eskisehir – kept Armenia’s dream alive .

Armenia has tapped into its vast Armenian diaspora, Petrakov having included players such as Argentinian-born pair Lucas Zelarayan and Norberto Briasco into a squad that may have lost 1-0 at home to Croatia last month but could still create new history for the ex-Soviet nation.

Meanwhile, Latvia are still looking for their first points in qualifying for Euro 2024. Two defeats last month left Latvia adrift at the bottom of the table. Latvia have lost 10 of their last 12 Euro qualifiers at home after their last defeat in September.

The defeat to Wales followed a heavy 5-0 defeat in Croatia a few days earlier – a far cry from Latvia’s first few games, when Wolves came close to getting a point on more than one occasion.

Back in June, Latvia twice came close to drawing, first losing to opponents of the week via extra-time penalties in Armenia, then losing 3-2 to Turkey despite managing to equalize in the 94th minute through captain Kristers Tobers.

After a positive UEFA Nations League campaign, when coach Dainis Kazakevics guided his team to promotion from League D, Latvia now have just three games left to get their first points in Euro 2024 qualification and save their pride.

Thus, this match will be a big challenge for the host team Latvia. Armenia comes to Riga with high motivation to reach the top two positions in Group D. Therefore, it is very likely that the visiting team will go home with maximum points.
