Last season’s Serie B champions, Lecce, are ready to host Inter Milan in the inaugural match of the Italian League Serie A 2022-2023. This match will be held at the Stadio Via del Mar, Saturday 13 August 2022 starting at 19:45 BST kick-off in the evening.

However, Simone Inzaghi’s squad have not shown their best performance with only one win in five friendly matches. Before challenging Lecce, Lukaku and team had to admit the superiority of La Liga club Villarreal with a 2-4 defeat.

Apart from pre-season results, Inter have won their first game in the last three Serie A seasons and are unbeaten in 11 games against newly promoted clubs. Among them was when they hosted Lecce in the inaugural match of the 2019-2020 season, which was also the debut of coach Antonio Conte, where Inter had success with four goals without reply.
