This is the fourth meeting between the two rivals from the Basque region in 2023. Osasuna is a team that has always been in the mid-table of La Liga since returning to Spain’s top flight in 2019. However, this season they have a great chance to break into the top seven and win tickets to European competitions. They are only three points behind Athletic Bilbao who are in seventh place, although they have to compete fiercely with Girona and Sevilla.
Meanwhile, Athletic Bilbao are also ambitious to maintain their position in the top seven by beating Osasuna. Ernesto Valverde’s side have just ended a four-match winless streak by beating Celta Vigo and must continue to fight to maintain their form in La Liga.

Apart from that, Bilbao is also quite tough when playing away from home this season with a record of four wins, three draws and three defeats in the last 11 matches.
For this important match, Osasuna cannot play Moi Gómez. Abde Ezzalzouli, Nacho Vidal, Brašanac due to injury. Among them, Ezzalzouli’s absence is the most unfortunate. Because the Moroccan player has scored six goals for Osasuna in La Liga in 2023 and all of them brought precious wins for the home team.
Meanwhile, if you want to get points from Bilbao, the Osasuna defenders must have a strategy to stop the most dangerous player of the opposing team – Inaki Williams. This player has contributed 13 goals for Bilbao in La Liga this season, including 10 goals and three assists.
