BTS is again competing in the international arena. This time RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, V, Jimin, and Jungkook will be involved in the contest for two categories of the 2022 American Music Awards (AMA) – the Favorite Pop Duo or Group and Favorite K-Pop Artist.
Interestingly, Bangtan Boys this year will compete with one of their partners last year through single titled ‘My Universe’, Coldplay. These two groups are fighting for the title of Favorite Pop Duo or Group at the 2022 AMA with Imagine Dragons, Maneskin, and One Republic.

In addition, BTS will also compete with four other K-Pop groups through a new category that is present to complement the six AMA categories this year, Favorite K-Pop Artist. The addition of these categories makes the AMA as one of the largest pop music award organizers in the US to be the first to have a special category for K-Pop.
The five K-Pop groups that will fight for the title are BTS, BLACKPINK, Seventeen, Tomorrow x Together (TXT), and TWICE.

Last year, BTS won three AMA awards through the categories Favorite Pop Duo or Group, Artist of The Year, and Favorite Pop Song through the success of ‘Butter’. BTS was named Artist of the Year at The 2021 AMAs after beating other Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Drake, The Weeknd, and Olivia Rodrigo.
According to the schedule, the 2022 AMAs will be broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles, on Sunday, Nov. 20, at 8 p.m. ET and on tape delay at 8 p.m. PT on ABC.
