Chen Xiao, Mao Xiao Tong, Tang Xiao Tian, Xu Ling Yue, and Liu Guan Lin are collaborating on the latest Wuxia drama series, ‘The Ingenious One’, which starts airing Wednesday, 03 May 2023. This web-drama totaling 36 episodes can be watched online via iQIYI and Tencent Video (WeTV)’s live streaming video platform.
The Ingenious One’, also known as ‘The Legend of Yun Xiang’, is directed by You Da Zhi, who has experience working on a number of costume dramas including ‘The Vigilantes in Masks’ (2011) and ‘Secret of Three Kingdoms’ ( 2018). Meanwhile, the script is the result of collaboration between writers Liang Zhen Hua, Jiang Da Qiao, and Yan Xi.
Chen Xiao plays Yun Xiang, a young man who is not very good at martial arts but is very talented as a strategist and is able to know people’s hearts well. Meanwhile, Mao Xiao Tong plays Shu Yan An, a girl with a calm personality who has extraordinary martial arts skills.

The Ingenious One Storyline
When he was young, Yun Xiang (Chen Xiao), whose real name is Luo Wen Jia, lost his entire family overnight due to a bloody tragedy. He managed to survive the tragedy thanks to the help of Wen Cong (Ren Luo Min).
As a result Yun Xiang really obeyed everything his savior said without realizing that in fact he was part of a big plan that was very neatly arranged by Wen Cong. While carrying out his mission, he meets Shu Yan An (Mao Xiao Tong), a smart girl who is unique and proficient in martial arts, who is Wen Cong’s adopted daughter.
As Yun Xiang’s investigation into the tragedy that befell his family deepens, he discovers many horrific secrets that make things start to get worse. Although aware that he has been deceived and betrayed, Yun Xiang decides to stand up and defend justice, even if it means sacrificing himself.
