The youth drama themed on campus romance, ‘Promise in the Summer’, will air starting Wednesday, March 15, 2023. Starring Ma Hao Dong and Liu Nan, this 24-episode short drama series can be watched online via the live streaming video platform Tencent Video (WeTV).
Promise in the Summer’ or known as ‘Sweet Promise in Early Summer’ is adapted from the novel ‘Master Devil Don’t Kiss Me’ by Jin Xia Mo. Previously, the love story between Han Qi Lu and An Chu Xia was adapted in 2017 with the same title as the web-novel.

Promise in the Summer Storyline
Han Qi Lu (Ma Hao Dong) is deeply hurt after his childhood girlfriend, Xiang Man Kui (Zhang Xin Tong), suddenly ignores him for no apparent reason. The injury left him allergic to members of the opposite sex, which many view as a rare disease.
Meanwhile, An Chu Xia (Liu Nian) is a girl who gets involved in various disputes because she offended many gangsters. However, an accident involving her mother made An Chu Xia’s life completely change.
A pre-approved organ donation agreement led to the mother agreeing to donate a kidney to Han Qi Lu’s father. To that end, she asked Han’s mother to help her care for and raise An Chu Xia until she graduated from university and got married.
As a result, this agreement made Han Qi Lu and An Chu Xia live in the same house. Even Han’s mother planned to set the two of them up, not to repay An’s mother, but because she judged that An Chu Xia was a good girl and suitable for her son.
The problem is, An Chu Xia turns out to be quite popular and is surrounded by young men who like her, including An Chen Chuan (Jian Ze Zheng). Meanwhile, Han Qi Lu keeps trying to deny his feelings for An Chu Xia who is secretly the target of a crime designed by Mo Xin Wei (Huang Yun Yun), a girl who is infatuated with young master Han.
