Qi Yan Di, Liu Yi Tong, and Wu Di Fei appear as the main characters in the latest fantasy-romance drama series, ‘I Belonged to Your World’, which airs starting Friday, March 10 2023. This web-drama totaling 20 episodes can be watched online via the iQIYI live streaming video platform.
The story of the drama, also known as ‘He Came Across Mountains and Seas’, was adapted from the novel of the same name by Chong Xiao Bian. Directed by Zhang Yu Xuan, this drama tells of a son’s willingness to travel through time and space to make his mother’s life happy.
Although the story is similar to the comedy film ‘Hello, Lin Huan Ying’ by Jia Ling in 2021, there are still some big differences. If in the film version a daughter returns to the past to help her mother, then in the drama version she changes to a son who is willing to go back in time to help his mother find a better partner even though he has succeeded in becoming a scientist in 2025.

I Belonged to Your World Storyline
Qi Shuo (Liu Yi Tong), a 25-year-old scientist, decides to travel back in time to help his mother change fate. The mother, Qi Yue (Qi Yan Di), is a daughter from a wealthy family who lacks ambition and has spent her youth doing nothing meaningful.
To help her mother, Qi Shuo returns to her mother’s school days, when Qi Yue faces two choices of young men who will become her lovers. The first choice is a basketball player from another school, while the second is Lu Xiao (Wu Di Fei), a science expert who goes to the same school as her.
In real life, Qi Yue chose to marry the basketball player which in the end made her live a miserable married life. To change this fact, Qi Shuo encouraged his mother to choose Lu Xiao. Even though this is a risk to him that has the potential to ‘disappear’ in the future.
Qi Yue struggles to transform her relaxed self to approach Lu Xiao. Under Qi Shuo’s tutelage, his mother eventually managed to enter the same university as Lu Xiao.
Qi Shuo also took the initiative to approach Lu Xiao’s family by becoming his mother’s maid. With his tricks and mischievous nature, Qi Shuo finally won Lu Xiao’s heart.
