The Marvel Cinematic Universe has just released the first official trailer for ‘Guardians of The Galaxy Vol.3’ which is scheduled to hit theaters on May 5, 2023. The trailer briefly introduces the newcomer, Will Poulter, who plays the golden man Adam Warlock aka Adam Magus .
The presence of this mysterious character was revealed in a post-credits scene in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) where Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki) creates a mechanical cocoon figure named Adam. “The next step in our evolution – more powerful, more beautiful, more capable of destroying the Guardians of The Galaxy,” said the golden lady.
In the trailer for the final film in the trilogy directed by James Gunn, it is revealed that Adam Warlock will be the enemy of the Guardians of The Galaxy, which consists of Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Drax (Dave Bautista), Nebula (Karen Gillan), Mantis ( Pom Klementieff), Kraglin (Sean Gunn), Groot (Vin Diesel), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), and the talking space dog Cosmo (Maria Bakalova).
Who is Adam Warlock?
In Marvel comics, Adam Warlock is a character created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Initially the Warlock was referred to as ‘Him’, described as a synthetic life form created in the image of a perfect human.
This artificial being created by the Enclave (Fascist organization within Marvel) was later named ‘Warlock’ by the High Evolutionary, who embedded one of the six Infinity Gems on the Warlock’s forehead – the Soul Gem.
Known as a complex character, Adam Warlock was once the killer of Thanos, collaborated with The Avengers, but also had an alliance with Thanos. This character has a dark side known as Magus, but also has a good side as a Goddess.
