The Heart of Genius, a Chinese drama series with the theme of parallel worlds adapted from the novel of the same name by Zhang Er, is scheduled to start airing on CCTV-8 on Friday, July 22, 2022. The 34-episode drama can also be watched online via the live streaming video platform iQIYI.
Also known as the ‘Basic Law of Genius’, this drama’s story is basically inspired by the struggles of a girl who re-discovers her love for mathematics after experiencing a journey through parallel worlds. The winner of the Best Supporting Actress award at the 22nd Huading Awards (2017), Zhang Zi Feng, is lined up as the main player and will collaborate with Lei Jia Yin and Steven Zhang Xin Cheng.

Synopsis
Lin Zhao Xi (Zhang Zi Feng) is the daughter of Lin Zhao Sheng (Lei Jia Yin), a man who is known to be a genius in mathematics. Feeling inferior to his father and his first love who is also a mathematical genius, Chu Pei Zhi (Steven Zhang Xin Cheng), makes Lin Zhao Xi decide to bury her love for mathematics and eventually become a Philosophy scholar.
One day, Lin Zhao Xi finds out that her father has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. At the same time, she also heard that her first lover was studying abroad.
Even though she has finished studying philosophy, Lin Zhao Xi’s desire to study mathematics has never been extinguished. Unfortunately, she lacked confidence after seeing the genius of her father and Chu Pei Zhi.
Her life changes completely as she travels across time and space. The first time Lin Zhao Xi landed in a parallel world was in 2006, when she was only 12 years old. There she fought in the Math Olympiad Summer Camp with the help of her father.
The second time, she arrived when she was still a senior in high school. Lin Zhao Xi decided to be more open to Chu Pei Zhi, who supported her to dare to listen to her heart in life.
Meanwhile in the real world, Lin Zhao Xi was preparing for her postgraduate examination. She also supports her family by competing in modeling contests. Together with Pei Zhi, Lin Zhao Xi carried out extraordinary research on a problem that earned her recognition in the field of mathematics.
