The story of archaeologists in pursuing various gruesome cases will be presented through the latest Korean drama series from the tvN network, Monstrous, which begins airing on Friday, April 29, 2022. This mystery-thriller genre drama with supernatural elements can also be watched online through a live streaming video platform Viu.
The 6-episode KDrama script was written by Yeon Sang Ho and Ryu Yong Jae. Meanwhile, Jang Kun Jae, who won several awards through the film ‘A Midsummer’s Fantasia’, was entrusted to direct Monstrous.

Synopsis
Jung Ki Hoon (Koo Kyo Hwan) is an eccentric archaeologist who researches various strange supernatural phenomena. In the midst of his busy publishing occult magazine while running the YouTube channel ‘Monthly Strange Stories’, he encounters a strange and unbelievable phenomenon while investigating a Buddha statue found in Jinyang County.
Before losing his only daughter, Jung Ki Hoon started a family with Lee Soo Jin, a genius pattern cryptanalyst. However, they divorced after an incident that led to the death of their only daughter and Lee Soo Jin moved to Jinyang.
The two only met again after Lee Soo Jin experienced a mysterious phenomenon related to the Buddha statue that Jung Ki Hoon was researching. Terrified, they were overwhelmed by the chaos that occurred.
Not only the two of them, the people of Jinyang County also had to face a very strange phenomenon.
